<div>today we fished a big grass flat on lake travis. the water is 68 degrees and the fish are ina ll stages of the spawn. we casted 4" swimbaits around the grass flat ams caught numerous fish.&nbsp;</div>

<p>We had a fantastic day out on Lake Travis, chasing the elusive Largemouth Bass and a few other species. As a passionate fishing guide with Bass Tours ATX, I was excited to take Dave Henderson and his group of three out for a morning of Texas lake fishing trip.</p><p>
</p><p>March is a prime time to target Largemouth Bass on Lake Travis, as the warming waters have them actively feeding and moving into their pre-spawn patterns. We met up at 2601 Cody Ave and headed out, taking advantage of the clear conditions throughout the day. Once on the water, we started working the lake with light tackle, covering different structure and depths to find the hot spots.</p><p>
</p><p>It didn't take long before the action started heating up. We were into Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Black Bass, and even a few Florida Bass and White Bass. The Wiper, or Hybrid Striped Bass, were particularly feisty, putting up a great fight on our lightweight gear. Dave and the crew were all smiles, working their lures and flies with precision and enthusiasm. Between the steady bites and the camaraderie on the boat, the time flew by.</p><p>
</p><p>Though we didn't manage to land any trophy-sized fish, it was still a day filled with great memories and plenty of quality catches. <div>today on lake travis we targeted largemouth bass and had an outstanding day on the water. the bass continue to oush into shallow grass flats to begin picking a place for theor spawing behaiviors. we soent the while casting a grass edges and shallow sand flats to catch bass&nbsp;</div>

<div>today we fished with 6th sense spinning rods and had them armed with 1/4oz ball head jig and 3" swimbait was the ticket today</div>

<div>today while fishing lake travis my clients wanted to target white bass, so we went to some places in the past i have found them running and we lucked out woth good numbers of white bass and largemouth bass</div>

<div>the water is 63 degrees on lake austin and the fish seem to be pushing up into every creek in the mid lake section of the river. as always this time if year a wacky rig is king of fishing. stay shallow and always go all the way to the back</div>

<div>the water is 49-50 degrees and the bass in lake austin are schooled up in the river channel outside of spawning areas. most schools are actiy chasing bait bit some are in an area and wont leave the area</div>

<div>water has cooled a degree or two in the past couole days and it has slowed the fishing down a bit. it took the sun coming out today to make the fish start biting. we fished opening and points that go i to spawning areas. i focused on the spawning areas that can hold more fish. &nbsp;</div>

<div>the fishing on lake austin is getting better and better. with the warming tamps the fish are in full pre spawn mode just waiting fir the water temos and day lengths to get to their prefered place! we caught some fish out in the middle of lake austin that were chasing bait but most came at the mouths of creeks and on grass edges while slowly draging a texas rig.</div>

<div>the 6th sense responce fishing rod 7' med/hvy moderate fast was the ticket for feeling those soft bites. on the end i had a hogwalla with a 3/8" tungsten weught to keep it tight to the bottom.&nbsp;</div>

<div>water is about as cold as it will gat all year 47 degrees in most of the lake. i stayed in the main river channel of lake austin and fished ledges and bait balls. occasionally i would find a fish swimming around by itself but most of them were in groups either on the bottom next to a drop off or chasing around schools of bait.&nbsp;</div>

<div>today i fished with 6th sense responce 7'4" spinning rod. armed with a 5/32 jig head and ozzie. i tried many different baits today and this was the profile they wanted.&nbsp;</div>

<div>the weather was crummy today while fishing lake travis so we decided to use moving baits to cover water and look for bait. we dis just that and ended uo having an incredible day! we fished some main lake transitions that had wind blowing on them and were loaded with bait as well as the mouth of a couple creeks that were also loaded with bait and fish chasing the bait.&nbsp;</div>

<div>today while fishing lake travis we used a 6th sense ESP cranking rod to trow the 6th sense PD7 in morningdawn and boy did the fish love that bait today! while the crankbait was being thrown in the front of the boat i was testing out some new live scope baits in the front and boy did they show out!</div>

<div>made a wuick trip to fish lake travis and had a really good couple hours. i found fish a little bit north of mid lake on wind blown main lake points. the fish on lake travis were hanging close to the bank and just off the fisrt drop off</div>

<div>today while fishing lake austin i spent a lot of time looking for where the grass started grow in patches and spread rather then being all over the place. after deciding on a plce to fish and throwing numberous shad imitating baits at the fish i could see in the grass, i couldnt get them to commit. i beleive i need to slow down and throw smaller baits &nbsp;</div>

<div>used heavy 6th sense rods to fish lake austin. i thre everyrhing from the hangiver and arig to underspinsand glide baits. &nbsp;</div>

<div>we poked around on lake austin fishing grass edges and points close to mouths of creeks on the main lake. the most productive grass was hydrill and eel grass. there is a gealthy mix of hydrilla, coontail, eel grass and milfoil&nbsp;</div>

<div>we used 6thsense rods to throw a coulle different baits on lake austin. the 2 that worked the best were the pd7 crank bait in morning dawn and an umbella rig fitted with 6th sense devine swim baits in ghost ice minnow.&nbsp;</div>

<div>we started fishing some main lake drains with grass and some flooded brush. we dis t have much kuck with our too waters and swim aits so we moved to a creek and ended up getting into them pretty good. the fish were holding in some flooded grass and bean bushes on some flat points in the backs of creeks.&nbsp;</div>

<div>today on lake travis we used 6th sense RESPONCE fishing rods equiped with shimano stradics. I have them lined with 15lb seaguar braid and a 12lb invisx leader. tje baid of the day was a 3.3 keitech swimbait on a 1/0 flashyswimer. also had some good fish caught on a berkley flat side&nbsp;</div>

<div>woke uo to the first cold front of the fall this morning and it for sure changed the fishing on lake travis. Fish on lake teavis are migrating to creeks and mouths of creeks where the bait is now located. We tageted banks on lake travis that are 45 degrees and rocky. The fish where up tight to the bank or sitting off the first ledge.&nbsp;</div>

<div>As always when im fishing i was using 6th sense rods and shimano reels lined with 20# seaguar invisix or 15# seaguar braid. the bait of the day was a 1/0 owner flashy swimmer with and 3.3 keitech on it.&nbsp;</div>

<div>today i poked around the mid portion of lake travis looking for oatches of isolated grass and checking any drain to see if there is grass in the back of it. any time you find isolated grass on lake travis there will be fish in it this time of year. fish tjem slowly with a texas rig or fish moving baits over the top of it</div>

<div>today while fishing lake travis i used a 7'2" 6th sense RESPONCE medium heavy acrion rod lined with 20# seaguar invisx. tied to the end was a 6th sense 2/0 wide gap hook and a 1/4oz tear drop weight free rigged. bait of the day was a 6th sense hogwalla and zoom trick work&nbsp;</div>

<div>i spent my morning graphing lake travis and looking for isolated grass, either cooltain or milfoil, mostof the grass on lake travis i found related closly to the brush the fish chase bait in early in the morning or a creek channel on the main lake body of lake travis. this grass was located in 10-18 feet of water, some grew up to 2' under the surface of lake travis&nbsp;</div>

<div>i fished lake travis with a 6th sense RESPONCE rod lined with 20# seaguar invix. on the end i had a 6th sense tungsten and 2/0 wide gap hook. the plastic of the day is a bellows gill</div>

<div>the wind was blowing pretty good so we decided to fish the windy side of the lake which is also flater and has some flooded brush. We found fish on the wind blown side of the flooded brush points, the water is dropping in the lake, about 2 feet in the last couple weeks, this making the fish move to the deepest brush they can find. &nbsp;</div>

<div>I was using a 6th sense 7'2" RESPONCE rod and shimano casting reel lined with 20lb seaguar invisx. On the end of it i had a 6th sense 1/4oz tungsten along with their 2/0 wide gap worm hook and a chartruse gill hogwalla.&nbsp;</div>

<div>we fished flat mainlake areas on lake travis that have defined drains in them. we always found the fish where the flooded brush and the creek channel got close together.&nbsp;</div>

<div>we used 6th sense RESPONSE rods woth a shimano slx reel. had them lined woth 20lb seaguar invisx, with 1/4oz texas rig finished with 6th sense new green pumkin pro hogwalla. this bait continued to get bit all theough the day. in the mornings we go through the same places with top water and swimbaits.&nbsp;</div>

<div>evening fishing trip, we tageted main lake drains with long pints coveres in flooded brush</div>

<div>ised 6th sense RESPONCE rod with a new underspin paired with with a 4" swimbait</div>

<div>fishing lake travis right now can be a little bit tought. i am having my best luck on main lake points fishing the outside edge of the grass</div>

<div>graphed main lake drains looking for brush piles and other structure to fish. when you find something right now just have to fish it to find out what is in it. all types of fish are hanging around one another in deep drains</div>

<div>we are fishing lake travis right now with light spinning gear, 6th sense reaponse rods, shimano stradic reels, 10lb searguar braid to 6lb seaguar tatsu leader. throwing small ned type baits</div>

<div>we bounced around from marina to marina targeting the schooling fish all morning. fishing for schoolies can be difficult because they are bery dialed in on the forage they are after. ive had my best luck foshing a baby z too weightless. they bait is bery small and hard to imitate.&nbsp;</div>

<div>we sre fishing with 7' - 7'6" spinning rods with a light braid to florocarbon leader. got a baby z too on a 3/0 wide gap hook with a swivel in front for a little extra weight.&nbsp;</div>

Hey there, fellow anglers! Captain Wyatt here with your latest fishing report for Lake Travis. It's been an exciting week on the water, and I’m thrilled to share the highlights with you.

Weather: We’ve had partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from a cool 68°F in the morning to a warm 85°F by afternoon. Winds have been gentle at 5-10 mph from the southeast, making for some pleasant fishing conditions.

Water Conditions:

Water Temperature: A steady 72°F
Water Clarity: Clear to slightly stained, with visibility up to 10 feet
Water Level: Slightly above average, which has been great for accessing different spots
Fishing Overview:
The fish are active and biting well across the lake. We’ve had success with various species, including largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, catfish, and sunfish.

Bass Fishing:

Largemouth Bass: The action has been excellent. We’ve been hitting rocky points, submerged brush piles, and docks with great results. Early mornings are prime time for topwater lures like frogs and poppers, while midday success comes with crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Texas rigs and drop shots near structure have also been effective. Remember to target shaded areas and deeper water as the sun gets higher.

Guadalupe Bass: These little fighters are active, especially in shallow rocky areas and near creek mouths. Small crankbaits, soft plastics, and inline spinners have been doing the trick. Focus on the banks and shallows early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

Catfish:

Channel Catfish: The bite has been good. We’ve found them in deep channels, near creek inlets, and around submerged timber. Cut bait, stink bait, and chicken liver have been working well, especially at night. Use a slip sinker rig to get your bait down to them.

Blue Catfish: These guys have been a bit more elusive but still catchable. Look for them on main lake points and in deep holes. Fresh shad and live bait are your best bets. A fish finder can help locate schools in deeper water.

Sunfish:

Sunfish Species: The sunfish bite has been excellent, perfect for kids and beginners. We’re catching them in shallow coves, around docks, and in weed beds. Worms, small jigs, and crickets are all you need. Light tackle makes for a fun and productive experience.

<div>we got a late start but it didnt seem to be a big deal, we started on a long point with grass that ended in a creek channel. the bass were hanging just off the grass in the channel. we sat up in shallow water and casted out to deep water throwing swimbaits. the bite was pretty solid until about 11:30. this time of year the earlier you are out the better.&nbsp;</div>

<div>using 6th sense respose rods and shimano spinning reels. spooked with light braid to a seaguar floro carbon leader. using a 1/4oz line thru head made by 6th sense and varieties of 3"-4" swimbaits.&nbsp;</div>

<div>the schools i have been fishing for are starting to spread out a bit so i went looning for long points with grass growing on them, i continued out until i could see the egde of the grass. i was finding schools of fish hanging off the edges of the grass out in the creek channels. the steeper the drop into the river chanel the more bass we would fond in the spot.&nbsp;</div>

<div>we are fishing with 6th sense whale and divine swimbaits on 6th sense line thru treble heads. using 7'3" respose spinning rods made by 6th sense.&nbsp;</div>

<div>water is slowly rising in the lake and making fishing a little bit tougher. to compensate inhave been targeting the offsore fish are sitting off grass ooints out over the main river channel. they do t seem to be effected as much by the changing water condition</div>

<div>soinning rids and reeling with light seaguar braid to an invisex florocarbon leader. throwing the 6th sense 1/4oz line through swimbait head and the divine swimbait.&nbsp;</div>

<div>fished offshore grass points adjacent to ledges on the main river channel. there are many hreat places to fish this way in lake travis. ise yoir mapping to fond the places where the contour lines get really tight together anywhere from 10-25'</div>

<div>hair jig, c10 crank bait, jerk bait, swimjig, swimbait all made by 6th sense.&nbsp;</div>

<div>had been awhile since inhad been on the lake so we went scouting. found the the lake has a much healthier grass population then it did previouse. we ended uo csyching a few fish on long main lake points that had a hard geass edge on the end of them.&nbsp;</div>

<div>6th sense response rod with seaguar 17lb invisex. foshing with a soft plasric worm on a pinched texas rig.&nbsp;</div>

<div>post front conditions had the fish set uo amlittle different then they have been. instead of sitting up on points and cast to deeper water i had to sit in the deep water and cast up to the shallow water. i think the fish were ticked much tighter to the grass rather then chasing bait out in the channel.&nbsp;</div>

<div>used 6th sense crank baits and swim baits to het these fish to react.&nbsp;</div>

<div>emded up on a flat grass covered wind blown bank throwing a super spook jr. Using 6th sense response rods to get that bait way out there</div>

<div>fished shallow for spawning and post spawn fish</div>

<div>baitcasting a soinning rods where used with artifical baits to catch largemouth bass</div>

<div>casting on flat grass points that being blown by wind to catch largemouth bass&nbsp;</div>

<div>med action spinning rod woth a 3500 shimano spinning reel. line-15lb braid to 12lb floro leader. bait- 3.5-4" shad and pumpkin colored swimbaits.&nbsp;</div>

<div>covered main lake flats and flats in backs of pockets. throwing moving baits the while time.&nbsp;</div>
